Tom Pringle was raised in Greensburg, Pa. and played throughout Southwest Pennsylvania. He owned two poolrooms in Youngwood, Pa. and Latrobe, Pa., when he was in his early twenties.
Tom went on the road along the east coast, spending a month in Norfolk and also played in Columbia,S.C. and Augusta and Atlanta Ga. He played all through Southern Florida. He also traveled to Detroit and Southern California. On his road trips, he rarely lost a match. He was proficient in straight pool, nineball and eightball on regulation tables, but he excelled on the bartables. He was usually a slow starter, but once he got warmed up he was virtually unbeatable.
In 1977, he moved to Las Vegas and worked as a car salesman, playing pool at night. Las Vegas had a lot of gambling on the bar tables and Tom, who was unknown at the time, found plenty of action. An old time road agent befriended him and taught him some of the secrets that Tom discloses in this book. At this time his game improved tremendously in just a few weeks.
After becoming a Christian in 1986, he finally quit his long time habits of alcoholism and drug abuse. He quit the game for 7 years and during this time he wrote this book.
He made a comeback in 1993, 1994 & 1995, playing for Tom and Jerry's bar, where his team won three State Championships in a row in the highly competitive top division of the Las Vegas pool league. Currently retired from competitive pool, he has left an impact on the game that he still loves to this day.
A true ambassador for the game of pool, Tom is more than willing to share his wisdom and love of the game with everyone.
"Knowledge is a powerful asset. It will overcome your lack of skill and your lack of confidence"
Tom Pringle
